The 2320 EC has an Origo 4100 stove built into the "galley" unit behind the helm. I finally got around to cracking it open this morning to see what was in there and was surprised to see that there are no "guts" inside (the canisters and any sort of heat regulating valves are missing). Is this thing worth replacing (with either an identical unit or a suitable replacement), or should I just install a FW sink and use a portable butane burner stove...?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I do expect to make use of the stove a few times a year, but probably not all that often. It will be used for heating up lunch on chilly spring outings or for making coffee in the morning on the occasional overnight with my son or a buddy.

The other thing I am considering is just removing the entire "galley" unit and replacing with a bunk-type bench seat that will fold down into a flat counter, with a storage bin underneath... HAving all these drawers is just going to lead to "junk drawer syndrome" I have a feeling... :)

When we lived aboard we had alcohol - stove and heater. It is the most unsatisfying heat we've ever experienced.

Today we use a Honda EU1000i and a $10 coffee maker; for meals a George Forman cooker.

Quick, easy and no pumping or mess. The little Honda will also power a 750 Watt electric heater to keep us warm during the day or all night. The Honda will also run a small microwave.
