I want to add riggers to my 2004 2120 SC. I want to mount them on top of the house. I am looking at the lee hardtop holders, they are pricey, but look like they'll work. I am wondering exactly where to mount them, and if the pilothouse roof is strong enough, and if I need to get telescoping poles or will fixed work ok. 15- 18 footers I guess? Any and all tips or advice is appreciated. I know this probably has been discussed before, but I looked through several pages and can't find the info I need. Thanks for any replies.

the hardtop should be strong enough, thats where mine are mounted. mine are mounted inside what would be your aft bulkhead, but i know someone who actually has them mounted on the outside lip of his pilothouse roof outside of the door and his are likewise fine. we both have the Taco Grand Slam bases, he has 18' collapsibles and i have 15'ers. they work fine, but i never actually collapse them, so fixed riggers should be fine.

Thanks, I was hoping to mount them on the outside lip, as I am a bit nervous about drilling into the overhead and through the inside of the pilothouse. I was thinking of the outside lip on the sides, but I dont know if that will work. There is only a couple of inches there and I can't seem to get the dimensions of the outrigger holders. I am going to check out the Tacos.

make sure you get good measurements before you buy and drill. the bases would not fit on our outside lip, but apparently his boat had a larger one. i would also be sure to get the backing plates which are offered, even though he doesnt and his are fine. as for the Taco bases, im very pleased with the performance of mine, if i end up heading down to the boat soon ill try and get you some measurements. if i were you, i would go for the 15 foot poles, as my friends 18' poles are pretty large even for his boat. they might get in the way on yours.

Here's my Lee's 15' outrigger base install. Notice I buttressed the bottom of the base against the cabin side for added support (as stated in previous reply, measure twice, cut once.) Going on 9 years with no problems. Very easy to deploy because the roof is not that high.

I've got a 2100 with a t-top and Lee OH277T mounts. They should work fine on your boat too.

I also went with the Lee 3716XS 16' fixed outriggers.

I had customs mounts made and so far its worked perfect. I will take a few photos today and post.

That is one great picture of your boat sitting out there Bryan. I love the outrigger and antenna look.

when you mounted your lee bases did you use a backer plate? im hearing different things...I just got my bases in the mail. Can I just drill 4 hours and put the bolts through with washers underneath?

The previous owner mounted the bases on top of the 2530.

He did an excellent job with large aluminum backing plates, I wouldn't do it any other way.
