Greetings:
My 2520 has been sitting in the sun for 10 years and the cowls on both engines have succumbed to UVs; the original paint is faded and the decals are pretty much gone. My winter projects deal mostly with cosmetic needs and the cowls top the list.
I have the decals, I've located a good body shop that will apply the primer, paint and clearcoat at a reasonable price. Problem: The Colorite spray cans might be o.k. for touch-up, but aren't what's needed for this project; getting a quart of the Yamaha OEM paint, code 5547 is insanely expensive according to my local Yammie dealer. Try $203 for a quart!
Question: has anyone tacked a project like this and, if so, how did you handle the paint challenge?
Regards,
Dan
