I JUST HAD A SET OF LENCOS 12X18 TABS PUT IN....WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS THOUGHTS ON PAINTING THEM??? THEY ARE STAINLESS SO THEY SHOULDN'T START TO RUST OR ANYTHING RIGHT??? :?:

Trailer boat or left in the water?

If left in the water, you should add a zinc to protect the tabs from electrolysis which can be made worse in a marina if any stray current abounds.

Stainless steel is ONLY protected when there is an oxygen level present to isolate it from atmosphere or surrounding environment. SS will pit, discolor, and corrode when underwater or where water is allowed to build-up and stay present on the piece.

Your Lencos tabs are really SS too much in the area of the weld as the welding de-carborizes the parent material. Please use the search function, as many of us here have been using the Pettit paint system for underwater metals.

THE BOAT IS LEFT IN THE WATER FROM NOW UNTIL MAYBE NOVEMBER....ITS ALREADY IN TH EWATER AND I HAVEN'T PAINTED THEM WITH ANYTHING...GUESS I'D HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR AND KEEP THEM CLEAN WHEN I BEACH THE BOAT
