Im trying to figure the best place to put new speakers on my Parker23 SE. Does anyone have experience with this ? please post pics if you have.

Hey Brucek, I have 4 speakers on my 2007 23se Hardtop. The forward 2 are just in line with the front edge of the cooler/seat in the front of console. They are under the gunnels, and the speaker face points down and outward, reflecting sound off the inner hull. The rear 2 speakers are about 1 ft. behind the back edge of the livewell, and are positioned the same. The speakers cannot be seen unless you lay on the floor, and look up. Try positioning them , and turn them on before you fix them in place. Also experiment with the position of the face of the speakers. I turn mine out toward the inner hull so I don't get water on them, even though they are marine speakers, and "waterproof ". System sounds great, and I play Wagner's "Ride of the Valkeries"on the way out fishing, and the people on the shore love it. ( It's the same song that they played in Appocolypse Now, when the helicopters were storming the beach, so Robert Duvall could go surfing, and smell the napom in the morning. ) Good luck with your project.........Papa

what speakers do you have? Been thinking of doing the same and can't decide on brand/model. Any pics would be great.

Hey Ryanc2, I bought my boat with the system installed by the first owner, but I can tell you that it is an Aquatic AQ-CD-1R Media Center. The features include AM/FM/CD-R/CD-RW/and MP-3. I guess the 4 speakers were part of the package, as they don't have any markings on them that I can read. The system plays clear, and loud(if you want it)., and also offers 6 preset radio channel buttons, and 7 weather bands, but I get good weather on my VHF. My unit is mounted in the overhead electronic box attached to the hardtop, and is suspended to avoid any water intrusion that may accumulate on the bottom, but I haven't had that problem. The CD's play well, and with out distortion, and I made up a little hanger for the MP3 player, so it doesn't bounce around the box. I'm sure there are many brands out there, but I would be careful to get matched speakers to your unit for optimum performance. Don't forget that my unit is from 2007, and the quality of electronics is improving by the minute. Good luck with your project....................Papa
