Thursday through Sunday this past weekend was the annual Bay Bridge Boat Show held at the Bay Bridge Marina in Stevensville MD.
Tri-State Marine (of Deale and Chester MD) had three Parkers in attendance, an 1801, a 2310, and a 2520XL.

Time for a little boat ****!

And finally, for anyone who hasn't seen the new starboard covers the factory is using over the fuel tank vents, here is a closeup view.

Kevin:

Thanks for sharin'

Two questions. Is it me,, or does the masthead light now look twice as tall? Or is it just an optical illusion because there is nothing else up on the roof to compare it to?

Also,,,

That is my first look at the "new" fuel vent cover. Do you know what is behind it? I.e., does it just cover up a standard Perko or some other OEM fuel vent, or does it have it's own "internals"? :?

Just wondering, because I have to dismantle my vent each year and put it in some vinegar to dissolve all the salt crud that clogs the screen. Would this just be one more piece to dismantle to have to get at the screen?

It's not you. Those all-around masts have to be 24 to 36" tall.
I think they look absolutely rediculous.

From what I understand, Parker is still using the stainless Orcas vents.

This new starboard piece is supposed to limit water ingestion.

Anyone else think it's odd to put a 225 on the back of the 23DV? Save what, $800 on a $60,000+ boat?

Hats off to Parker for adding even more protection from water. Gotta wonder what'll happen to that piece of starboard as soon as the boat rocks against a dock? Splintering fiberglass and all as the dock removes the guard.

Is that "all round white light" in the way of mounting radar?

My current light just barely pokes above the Raymarine 4kw radome. I'm looking to replace the original 12" all-round light with a 24". Parker is on the right track with the longer lights.

WRT covering the very nice and functional Orca vents with a plastic plate, I agree...it is one more thing to catch on the dock. The reason I swapped out the original Perko vents was because the plastic tops kept getting knocked off by the docks. Since I moved to the flush Orca vents, I'm 100% satisfied. They are on the right track with the Orcas...they just need to drop the plastic cover.

BTW, this is small stuff...easy to fix. Parker builds an awsome hull, and if all we have to carp about is the height of the light and the plastic vent cover, we are really getting down to picking over mouse turds.

Without question! The reason we enjoy it when someone posts photos of the new model Parkers is because we like to see if there are any new improvements that would fit our own personal needs for our own Parkers. Everyone has their own requirements. I need to sneak under two bridges so excessive height overhead is an issue for me. Maybe someone else spends lots of time at anchor and all-around light height is a priority.

I wanted to learn about the new fuel vent to see if it was truly an improvement and if I needed to upgrade to the new model. We are -all- anxious to learn about the latest improvements from the factory and we will all make our own specific decisions that suit the way we use our Parkers.

I wasn't picking over mouse turds, I was trying to build a better mouse trap!
