Just got my new Powertech prop in. Andy (SIM) and Marcus @ Powertech were both VERY helpful in selecting a prop, and are both outstanding vendors. I can't wait to try this bad boy out on the water! I will let you guys know what kind of numbers I get.

Its model #CLY200OFS4R17P.

Nice salad shooter... 8)

Judging from the model number I'm going to guess it's a 17 pitch?
Any other specs you can give us?

Yup, its a 17.

I like that I don't need to use a flo-torq kit like the Rev4. PT uses OEM hardware. And their customer service is top notch! And this prop is very well made.

I'll be sure to post numbers once I splash!

So say I am not prop "smart". I know different props provide different performance for differnt conditions. I am using the prop that came with my Yammie. Maybe its the best, maybe I could do better. How would I know? How do I select a "better prop" to get the most of my 150 HP?

Take the boat out on a calm day, with your normal load of equipment, people, and fuel. Trim up your tabs and trim your engine to the proper height. Right down your speed at every RPM, starting at 3000, in increments of 500, all the way to WOT.

3000
3500
4000
4500
and so on....

Then call Marcus at Powertech, or Andy (SIM), or just fill out the form on the Powertech website, and see what they recommend.

I just ordered the same prop with a 16 pitch for my 05 2320 w/F250. I'm looking for more bite, less cavitation, ... I'm also running the Permatrim and Lenco 18x12 trim tabs.

They recommended the 16 for me also, but other people seem to have good results with the Rev4-17P, so I decided to go with a 17. I am going for a ride this weekend. I'll be sure to post results.

This is a great group...where else would you find guys posting photos of their props!

I love it.

Really.

:)
