I purchased in Oct 09 and finally got around to taking some pictures. Just wanted to let ya'll know what a south Georgia fishing boat looks like! Any of ya'll out there that fish out of Carabelle or the panhandle of Florida, let me know so we can keep in touch about the fishing. -Gordon

Its takes me about 2 hours to be in water from my house. i live about 25 miles from Tallahassee.

Nice, I like the added roof and the twins. What is she a 28??

Very nice

Shes a 2520 Deep V. On trial run when i purchased her we got her up to 60mph. She will cruise at about 35 to 38 but your a fuel tanker behind you.

My 2520 is rated for 325 max h.p. I would love to have twins on her.

Do you have seperate gas tanks ?

Is the roof easy to remove ?

Do you happened to know who made the roof ?

Do you happened to have any pictures of where the added roof meet the actual roof ?

Sorry about all the questions, I think she really look nice

Only have 1 173 gal tank. I i go out 30 miles and fish 4 or 5 holes will burn around 60 gal.
The roof is not a removable one. Where we fish we need it 95% of the time. It is made by Big Bend Marine in Perry, Fla. So is the livewell-fishbox. They are a great bunch to work with.
Best thing on boat is the wench. Saves a lot of back ache.
Added shelves-holders in cabin. Will try to get more pics.

For fishing i do not think anything can beat a Parker. We bottom fish with 5 on board most of the time

Sweet bottom fishing setup. I know you love your EZ Anchor Puller 'cause I have one on mine and it's the best

Very nice ride! If you ever make it to Panama City let me know and we can do a trip. I used to have some good spots but we will see what happens with this oil headed our way :(
Ever do any overnighters offshore?

Nice boat! That's a ton of horsepower on the notch transom, is it reinforced or modified?

Love the open array... love the cockpit shade... and love the power! 8)

what kind of structure do you guys bottom fish down there, rocks or reefs, wrecks, oil rigs?

what is your primary targetted species?

i like that windlass... when my powerwinch freefall finally pisses me off enough i might think of going to that behemoth. how much line will it hold?

holy cow that must be a rocket with two ox66s on it

We fish for grouper red and gag, red and mango snapper, amber jack, cobia, and we troll for king mackerel.

we also catch rock or black bass and shark

that's the reason the gulf is so much fun, you never know what you are going to pull up.

We fish a lot of structure such as wrecks. We also have alot of man made reefs in the 80 to 100 ft range
We also fish a lot of natural rocks formations.
I did not purchase the boat new but have enjoyed the boat very much.
as far as power i know it will do 60 mph with some throttle left.

where are you from and what do you fish for?

new jersey...We catch striped bass in the spring and fall, which is caught a million different ways, and the summer months we drift for summer flounder (fluke for us yankees) over all types of bottom, open bottom, channel edges, rocky bottom, etc. There is also some man made reefs that can be drifted relatively easily for them.

i also do a bit of bottom fishing for black seabass and tautog, which is usually anchored over wrecks and structure. The shipping lanes for the last 400 years or so are right up the beach, from 3-8 miles out, so there's wrecks all over the place pretty much, from old wooden barges all the way up to giant steel hulled stuff sunk by U boats...

We are all worried about the oil spill.
We went out on Thursday and got the limit on amber jack that weighted around 20 to 25 pounds. We also got black bass, grouper, and very large red snapper that we had to put back because the season is closed.
About the speed of boat i usually cruise at 30 to 32 at 4000rpm in 2 to 3 foot seas. I think i was lucky the boat has a deep v. I have a friend that has a modified and it seems to slap the water alot harder. I do not know enough about the difference to talk much.

nope thats accurate. the MV can be brutal in a headsea. it's a beast in a following or beam sea though.

Thanks for advice. I have learned a good bit from this forum. I try to learn something each time i go out both about my boat and fishing. I am 62 and have been through it all, hunting, fresh water fishing, fast cars, antique cars, Harley motorcycles (6) and now i am ready to fish salt water in my Parker.

Sweet Boat, Nice Set up, Pocket Sportsfisherman, I have an 1987 25 MV
with Twin 225's and open array radar. No such thing as too much power,
enjoy the boat. Parker DV's need big twins!![/quote]

Thanks, I have enjoyed the Parker so far. Been out in gulf about 6 or 7 times and had very good luck. I am taking it slow and trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. Have learned a lot from this forum.
