I would like to install a 12 volt fan in my Parker 2520XL Pilothouse. Does anyone have any suggestion/recommendation and where to purchase said fan.

thanks
Bill

Many years ago, 'Dry Doc' (from the old Parker boards) recommended this 12V oscillating fan. I bought one and it works SLICK, though I don't use it much and I know I paid more. I like the oscillation feature and the ability to clamp in a few spots. Check this out, was like this. I just took apart the cig-plug and packed with dieletric grease and sprayed motor with CRC corrosion protectant. Still works, ~5-years old anyway!

Not sure if there is, in fact, any difference between the Walmart fan and those made for marine environments. I paid $24 for this Seabold brand and tapped into the cabin light power.

Works like a charm. It can oscillate or you can keep it in one spot.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I now have something to look for. Dale's idea is good since there are certain number of days that a fan is needed and when not needed can easily stowed. I installed a cig-plug some time ago and I could use that for a power source. If I permanently mount the fan I will do as Otherline and connect into the cabin light.

Thanks everyone.

I have just one in the cabin of a 2530, centered between the windows. Hella is a common brand. Check to make sure you see how much air they move, some aren't worth the battery drain!

Mine can be rotated manually, and on/off switch, and has two speeds. West Marine's of the world usually have a working display.

I use the fan for myself when driving slow or when at the dock. I've had it since 2005. Hella Turbo, comes in more than white from what I remember, draws 1/2 amp at full speed.

Dayum I shudda bought a 2530 ... but then, would loved a diesel boat too! Doh!

Dale, remember the deal you got.

I wanted the 2530 from the start. Been sleeping on it more this year at different marina with better facilities.

Added a couple LED's in the vee berth two weeks ago to supplement the light on each side for night reading. The one on the left can also be turned on to get red LEDs.

Bought them at Bass Pro.
