Man I wish I was on the jury.

What a shameful commentary on our police force here in America. I would expect this kind of cover up in a dictatorship but not in America. Really sad.

Guys. This just happened near me. One of our closest friend's sister was on board the struck Boston Whaler, was injured, and is ok now. Mr. Post is dead, however, leaving two sons and a wife. The perp is still not charged, mostly because of connections his family has with local law enforcement. It makes my skin crawl, as does the Boat US sailboat story.

Just a follow-up on this, Saturday, I got the October issue of Soundings magazine with an article about the Buzzards Bay incident. The powerboat guy was entering a waypoint into his GPS when he looked up and BAM! The CG charged him with a bunch of stuff, not to mention the civil suit, this fellow probably doesn't have enough insurance. If you don't get it in the mail, or know someone who does, the issue will probably be in West Marine library, I mean newstand (hehe) within a week or two.

When I'm setting my radar, FF, and/or chartplotter, I only do one or two quick operations before bringing my eyes back to the horizon to look for hazards. It is easy to get to playing with those gizmos and get into trouble way too fast.
