Some of you know I purchased a 2006 1801 back in January. The boat had 60 some odd gallons of gas in the tank when I towed it home to Maryland, The owner had run the boat fishing in November 2008, and filled and treated it with blue Stabil, in preparation of winter storage. I stopped and treated it with blue Stabil also, on the way home, since I am just that way about the fuel.
Well, the way it was parked in my drive way, (the only way it could be parked), it was on a nose down, vent down, slope. It kept burping up fumes, until I took five gallons out in January. I had worked on the boat all winter, freezing my keester off, and April 19th, I was just changing the bearings in the hubs to Timkens, ( I like them for the 200 mi round trip tows I have to make to fish the bay), when I had the signs of an impending heart attack. Short story is I did not have one, I went straight to the emergency room, but I had emergency open heart surgery instead, and I am expected to be back to better than new in 10 more weeks. I am sure the gas will be ok, but I am thinking it might be good to start getting it out and burning it in the vehicles. I am able to purchase non ethanol gas locally. The only problem I have with that scenario, which I think is best, is that I cannot do diddly. I have to get some one to do it for me, and it won't be easy. Any ideas? I just want no trouble when I get better, and get to run it. Thanks!
