I own a 1991 25 foot, Parker Sportcabin w/ tower. Engine is 1997 Mercury 250 EFI. I am currently running a 15 x 15 aluminum prop. I was advised to go to a 4 blade stainless, due to cavitation while turning. Does anyone have any input as far as improving performance &/or what size prop?

Any info is appreciated.

you'll get a little better efficiency with a stainless prop. it won't really help when turning. if you turn sharp enough without the engine tucked in any prop will cavitate. some guys have had good luck with powertech 4 blade which is the same as rev 4 just cheaper. stick with 15 pitch. you can also try a mirage plus but stick with something with at least 14.5 diameter

I Have a 2520. I ran a powertech 15x15 4 blade. it was ok. I stepped up to a Rev 4 15x17 and it made a big difference in performance. I can trim it up a lot further with plenty of bite. FTIW i like the Rev 4.

FWIW, on that mod-V hull, you'll need to trim your OB almost all the way IN on your sharp turns, regardless of the prop she wears ... at least IMHO.

I bought the P'Tech prop and am pleased with it, as Merc Rev 4s were not available from dealers when I bought mine. PropGods tested both and they're alleged as 'comparable', as per their experience.

But again, I stand by what I say, on that hull (mine is a '92) you WILL need to tuck the OB down and in ... regardless of the prop worn.
