I have a 2501 dvcc powered by twin 200 hpdi. I want to get a new set of props. Does anybody know which would be a good set for me to buy. I'm thinking 4 blades of some sort but not sure
Im guessing with twin Hpdis you arent that stern heavy but if you think you are then the Rev 4 or powertech equivalent would be a good prop. If you want to go fast then the Mirage Plus or powertech equivalent is a good choice. You should be able to spin a 19 pitch in either blade with those motors.
Thanks!!! the reason I'm thinking about buying a four blade is I have a hard time keeping the boat on plane at lower speeds. I was thinking a four blade might help??
Check your motor height, also the size of your tabs will make a big difference too. With twin hpdis you should be able to plane at 17 or 18. I was able to plane off around there with the 2530 with twin 225 4 strokes with a tower and all my other stuff but also had the 4 blades and upgraded trim tabs.
Are the dia. and pitch stamped on the prop anywhere?
I have a 'new to me' 2520 DVSC with twin 200 HPDIs - wrapping up some final rehab details and hope to splash in the next few weeks. I'm anticipating the performance and what I'm working with....
Some will some wont. alot of times youll see 15 x 17 or something like that or sometimes its just stamped 17p. If you can find out what type of propeller you have you can also go online and look it up. yamaha makes several different series of propellers so you could have 19 pitch props from them that range from 13.75 to 15 in diameter. so if you can find out the model like saltwater series II or reliance or any marking post them and ill tell you or you can look them up.
