When running into certain sea conditions the helm makes a noise like there are loose wires banging into the back of it. However, this is not the case. Does anyone know how the helm attaches to the pilothouse or the front wall? I originally though it was the back of the helm but i have since thru bolted that. Also, the door leading into the berth has teak trim around it which has all had the screws stripped out and is very out of level. Whoever wants to take a crack at either let me know. Its very frustrating im about to go drop it at the dealer.

My anchor chain slaps the front of the hull in rough seas and makes a "slap, slap, slap".

yeah mine does that too. different sound. almost as if the screws holding the helm together are moving. and its very distinct the location of the noise. Almost sounds like its coming from where the helm meets the pilothouse under the starboard window.

I have a 2520XL (2004) and also have the same problem and believe it maybe coming from the cap flexing with respect to the hull. The sound gives a clicking noise in rough seas. However, I am not sure and wish I knew the answer.
