I know more is better than less; however, does the f225 provide sufficient power, speed and performance on the 23dvcc. I am looking at a couple boats and both have the full transome with brackets. What type of numbers are realistic. Will i be unhappy with the f225 vs. the f250 or is it more a factor of a couple seconds planing time, tad slower at cruise (maybe) and top end (which is not important). I just want to be able to fish this boat with four and full gear comfortably. not a speed deamon, but have sufficient power in rougher weather. Thanks, Casey

as I always read: the F225 was overrated for horsepower, the F250 was underrated....ie the F225 really was closer to 210, and the F250 was closer to 260

granted my source is kinda wishy washy: boating magazine, but...

the f225 has been out for a LONG time and been a beloved motor.... so who's to say.

you wont notice 25 hp except on wot. chances are you would be spinning the same prop just at wot youd get another 100 rpm out of your motor which would be 1-2 mph depending. That being said if you are one of those that has to have the biggest and best then save yourself the heartache and get the 250.

Word on tbe street is that the F225 ain't a 225hp motor. But then again, the F250 doesn't produce 250hp without high octance fuel.

That's why a Suzi 4-stroke will be my next motor :D !

Thanks a bunch. About what i figured.

Is the 23dvcc without the seating a commercial hull? I would love to run across that version. I have seen the commercial hulls but always in the mod. vee versions. That is ideally what i am looking for. I just want a open deep vee with four stroke pover and a 23 footer with a t-top. don't really need the thrills frills or trailer. we plan on epgrading electronics and getting a sidscan for bottom fishing. really like the enclosed transome and fishbox too. I hope i find one soon in my price range. found one in s. florida but that is a hike. i've got two months off inbetween jobs coming up and really want to fish hard core!!!! Thanks again

That would be nice but with a leaning post and no bow rails. But hey whos picky?lol. Is that one for sale?

FishFactory,

Hope all is well, never got the flats boat ,as I looked around I found much better looking and brands for the kind of money they were asking for ECC,going to Tampa this weekend to look at more boats at a show going on there.

He asked if I wanted to sell my boat,I told him I would and gave him all details, but to pricey for him,my boat is in very, very cherry condition and has many upgrades, just the Birdsall T-Top is a ton of money.

Well hope all is well and getting ready to do some spearing very soon.

FishFactory,

Nice to hear from you,no it was just that after I looked around and saw so many flats boat (major Brands) at realistic prices,I said to myself, why buy a brand you will have a hard time selling down the road.

I want to keep my Parker, the flats boat will be used mainly in Miami during winter and the Everglades.

Do call me when you come down in July.

Robert
