First fishing post for new 21SE owner. Left out of Back River in Hampton VA yesterday late afternoon heading to the inlet between Fisherman and Smith Island at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Slick, sunny and warm ride over to inlet calm when we got there, we could hardley see any breakers to show us the bars. That changed when the unpredicted N to NE wind at 20 plus knots kicked up after about 30 minutes. To rough to be in there after dark so we moved over between buoys 8 & 10 east of the high rise of the CBBT. I have had the boat a couple months getting it ready and fishing more times than I would want to admit and not catching anything but sharks, rays and skates. We had both live crabs out and sea clams. About 10:45 the rod I was holdng with a fresh sea clam got hit and ended up being my first fish on this boat a 44 inch Red Drum. Notice the chunk missing out of the gill plate, old injury completly healed over. They are tough fish.

Wow... You've got to wonder what it was that did that damage to the big guy!

Nice fish! Congratulations! 8)
