What are the products of choice for removing corrosion from
1. male and female electrical connectors (e.g. electronics)
2. snaps

thanks gentlemen.

IMHO you need a mechanical means to remove built-up corrosion. Bronze wool, NOT steel wool, or brass/bronze 'tooth'brushes like used to clean firearms, work great!

yep, those female electronic plugs to build up corrosion even with light use.

What about a little burst of PB blaster into the plug, then let it drip out right away? I have some PB on hand.

Well I apply dielectric grease on every install (annual) and have yet to see any corrosion. If you see it on something you take apart frequently, I would guess it is coming from the environment and would clean it and use a prophylatic-type protectant, e.g., Boeshield T9, just do NOT use it on moving parts ...

And you will not see any. :)

But you should see the people that don't do that and then wonder why they have problems.

I ordered up some DeOxit after reading about it elsewhere. It worked great to get rid of the corrosion on the connections behind the helm and in the DC power outlet whcih was completely green when we got the boat.
