Hello:
it's getting to be high water on lake St Clair, I have a low bridge to go under and and I'm worried about the launchers. I currently have 4" of clearance from the bridge to the launchers themselves (was 18" in the spring)

I removed the fasteners but it appears that these things are locked down with super caulk of some sort, geez I think the hardware is for cosmetics.
Has anyone done this before.

Thanks
Gerard

Gerry:

Any good sealant like Boat-Life "Life Caulk:, nevermind any adhesive polysulfide like 3M's 5200, can has an aggressive tendency to 'stick' the pieces together. If 5200, they do make a solvent to cut it, called "Anti-Bond 2015", but expen$ive at $15 per small bottle.

With a little pressure under one edge, you can start breaking the 'seal' with a sharp putty knife or such, even a staight razor blade. Mask off the area with blue tape to prevent hitting the glass with the tool. Whatch it when it pops, as when bedded hardware lets go ... it lets go!

Go SLOW and careful and you should be able to remove it easily.

I made plates out of starboard and flipped the bolts around on mine so the launcher is easily removable.

I have a bridge to deal with too and I frequently remove the launcher with a 7/16 socket. Takes about 1 min to do.

what do you do about the radar mount? looks like in your pictures it sticks up more than the rocket launcher.
