I am out on the west coast so pickins are kinda slim for used boats. I have found a very lightly used cherry 97 2310 with transom mount 225 ox66. No hard top but only 100 hrs total use and stored indoors. Has radar arch though. no modern electronics. practically zero corrosion. Attached is a pic of the engine bracket which is a good telltale. 25k with alum trailer.
Personally I have no issues with conventional mounted engines and am well aware of the pros vs cons. However it seems like the sport world on my side up north has been brainwashed into believing that the only way to go is to have an enclosed transom with alum bracket. I am not starting another debate on this but rather just wondering if any traders out there have experience in real world resale/demand of transom mount Parkers? It seems to me that 9 out of 10 used boat buyers think they have to have a bracket boat because 9 out of 10 people say so on the internet. And the manufacturers have followed suit.
I just dont want to buy a dog! If I get for 25k and then put 8k into electronics and a 9.9 kicker + mount will I be underwater with a hard re-sale? I think so. Plus it has an 0x66 which I love but most dont.
