I have a 2011 21SE with the standard 2 rold holders in the back on each side. I am looking to install 3-5 more on each side all the wat to the bow. I am doing this mainly for drifting eels in the lower bay and rod storage when anchored fishing off the back of the boat. No T-Top on my boat now.My question if anyone has alrerady done this on this boat or the 23 what angle rod holders did you use? Second what do I do the protect the holes that I drill for the holders? I saw a post on here or somewhere about this and can not find it. Any input would be apprreciated. Thanks.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe the standard is 30 degree. We put two in the back of my 2320. here are a few pics below, we used 5 min epoxy and smeared it all over the bare wood after making the hole. You want to make sure you seal that up well, and then used 4200 on all the screws to mount the rod holder.

I was lucky enough to find the Parker ones, but unfortunately they stopped making them with the Parker stamp on them now.

Mike is correct. Standard is 30 degree.

I have three rod holders down each side.
Aft holders are set direct off the stern, middle are 45 degrees out, and the forward ones are 90 degrees out.

After you make your hole, thoroughly wet the wood core (including the bolt holes) with epoxy (I used West systems). Give it multiple coats.
I sealed my rod holders with marine silicone.
My thought on this was the wood core was protected, so all I needed to do was to keep water out from under the stainless bases.
Also... by using silicone, I can re-seal it at any time much more easily.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I'll post an update when I get enough nerve to drill a bunch of holes in the boat.
