I have a 2120 DVSC that I purchased this year and it came with a Sea Lion roller bunk trailer. I have been having problems with the deep V getting scratched and even the gelcoat getting chipped. I looked at the trailer and it looks like the deep V gets in between the rollers before they lift the hull and then scrape down the side. Anyone else have an issue or solution? I don't see an adjustment on the trailer anywhere.

Is it just a matter of backing the trailer a little further down the ramp to keep the back of the trailer deeper?

Luv2fish, I have the same issue with my Sea Lion trailer. Fixed several gouges and nicks this year alone. The largest gouge was approximately 7" long. I did find one area where the hull (keel) scraped on the trailer and covered it with a piece of rubber (round rubber gasket for PVC pipe). This area is causing most of my issues and is part of the trailer tongue that extends past the bow-stop. When the boat pulls away from the bow-stop at launching, the keel hits this part of the trailer tongue. I know there are other areas that are causing problems as well, typically the metal brackets that bolt the roller-assembly to the trailer frame. I intend on padding these areas as well but, not sure how yet. Big PIA!!!!! I am getting to dislike Sea Lion Trailers as a result. I will try and post a picture of the area I am referring too.

JamesTX - I don't think that is the issue. I am still trying to isolate the exact part (or parts) that are doing the scraping.

Sara F - I do think that one culprit is the location you refer to. I plan to investigate more this weekend now that I have just had the boat "repaired and repainted" and can see better where the metal might have new paint.

I had an EZ loader for my Grady and loved it. I might just be looking for a new trailer next year.

Luv2fish, please keep me posted on what you find. The fresh paint will be a big help in the invstigation process. I don't have that luxury yet because my botom is not painted. I am sure whatever you find to be the culprit, I will have the same issue.

I took a look under the boat this morning and took some photos. The large tube in the front had no damage. I have a roller mounted up front that lifts the bow above this tube. Do you have one?

Notice that the front tube does not have any paint. I don't think that is the problem. I have a roller on the front of the trailer that pops the bow above that. I might need to adjust it up just a bit.

I did find paint on the leading edge of the roller frames (see photo 007 and 010).

There was paint all over the place. I guess the previous owner painted the boat on the trailer.

The paint on the leading edge of the roller frame looked like it was as a result of transfer not dripping.

Not sure this helps. I may just find a way to cover these items and see if that stops the problem.

Any suggestions are most welcome.
