Lengthy question, the next project is to decide exactly how to operate an 8 to 20 hp kicker next to my 250 on the 2520 xl. Presently there is nothing to have to work with or around. The kicker will function as a trolling motor, come home motor in an emergency, and for docking in confined areas. In my Bayliner inboard this was done nicely with a 9.9 that had a tiller handle that worked quickly in a tight docking situation or keeping a fish on the same side of the boat. The tiller handle gave instant direction change. The swim step on the Parker puts the kicker almost out of reach unless extensions are put on for most of the kicker controls. The alternative is a second steering and control station. The pilot house mount looks like it is out of the way of the guy that is running laps with a tail walking silver salmon. The station that can be put most any where is more likely to get in the way as the port mounted live well I have to decide about. Two questions: #1 I would like to use a Yamaha kicker unless there is something out there that would work better, how have any of you solved this problem of controlling a kicker while sitting on the transom or have suggestions? #2 Pros and cons of using either the aft pilot house mounted station as opposed to the station that appears to be mounted on the side of the cockpit? Thanks! John
