the controls are currently being installed they will go to the right of the lowrance chartplotter on the bulkhead. Are u installing a bulkhead on ur 2520. I installed mine but have the mechanic installing the controls for my new etec.

I would like a set up just like yours

There not bad in price. U can order the bulkhead from a dealer for $375. But a 13" destroyer wheel match the helm pump u have in the main and buy the second station hydraulic fitting kit measure ur hydraulic hoses and plug and play. Also if u want dual lever dual action controls or single leave dual action controls I can help u with that to. I went with the single lever dual actions by buying a ds unit from seastar. I dislike dual lever controls especial for docking. I will have these controls here front and back helms

do the controls in the cabin have to be the same as the bulkhead controls? dual dual or single single?

ok so what do I actually need? controls (Front and rear?)
helm pump
steering wheel
2nd station fitting kit? (are the kits motor specific?)

So this is what I have some of it u can see instructions on seastar solutions website.
Rear helm pump flush mount 1.7 cubic inch displacement it has to match ur front help displacement.

Ds(dual station unit) they make one for the throttle and gears buy both of those. This is for single lever dual action controls like this
These are dual lever dual action controls which I hate the ones below this is what I like but in Brp
For ur controls u will need to buy adapter kits for ur motor and the two controls. The adapter kits are also through seastar and that allows u to is extreme cables for the ds units that's the only way they will work. I have adapter for my evinrude controls and motor. wow that's a lot thanks. what if I buy the dual controls for front and rear? will I need the ds unit? btw I have a Honda motor. I don't see it on that chart

is the transfer unit because I want 2 dual controls or because I have a Honda motor?

ok so i have the steering figured out. now when it coms to the cables....whats my best bet? should i run cables in series or parallel ?

Believe me when I say that I'm not doubting you .....but just for my knowledge.....why parallel and not series?

okay so series in terms of cables goes from one device to the the next devices and so on. While u already have steering in place that goes from ur main helm to the motor. If u run another set from ur main helm to ur bulkhead then u are running them in parallel. Plus u don't have to buy another set of cables use the existing ones that are there and tape off them unless I missing something.

Make the second helm in the picture your main helm and tee off there it's the same thing. I would consider this picture to be in series. Just buy one set of cables and the second station kit. It's cheaper. I'm not sure using the terminology of parallel or series fits the term "steering" but I gave it a shot.

seems easy enough. All I'l need is a set of cables from my main helm to my 2nd helm?

I thought parallel would be both controls have their cables run to the motor. And series would be main helm to second helm and then second helm to motor
