my swim platform came with the four holes for a kicker motor predrilled. the holes had a plastic insert that kept coming out.

so, about a year ago i put some nice round head bolts in the holes. i thought i had isolated the dissimilar metals (SS/aluminum), but eventually the aluminum under the paint around the bolt heads started corrode.

in this project i ground off the corrosion, filled the holes, and retextured.

Another great job!
One of these days, I'm going to do non-skid inside the cabin floor.

Were did you get the paint for the bracket?

if you want to paint with the original paint then you can get the paint code from Parker and buy the paint from your local paint store.

i had some gelcoat that is a spot on match. the bracket is actually a different color than the hull (slightly lighter). the gelcoat color is called "dusky" from Fiberglass Coatings in St Pete. we'll see how it holds up. i've had a small spot in another area on the bracket that has held up for two years now.

Thanks Bryan. I have some corrosion issues on my bracket that need attention. One of them was started by a 200lb Blueshark who bite my bracket while we were trying to get him un-tailwrapped.

in case you need to acquire the paint locally, here is the paint code directly from Parker.

So this is formulation that Parker told Amrstrong it wanted it's platform painted? I thought you said that the platform is lighter than the hull?

So the Dusky color matches the bracket color dead on, but the Parker formulation is a lighter than Dusky when applied to the bracket?

So this is formulation that Parker told Amrstrong it wanted it's platform painted? ......i have no idea what Parker told Armstrong.

I thought you said that the platform is lighter than the hull?.......it is.

So the Dusky color matches the bracket color dead on, but the Parker formulation is a lighter than Dusky when applied to the bracket?.........yes the color of dusky matches the Armstrong color dead on, therefore the formulation as relayed to me by Parker from Armstrong IS NOT lighter than dusky. HOWEVER, THE COLOR OF THE BRACKET IS LIGHTER THAN THE COLOR OF THE HULL REGARDLESS OF THE PAINT CODE AND ITS ORIGIN.

Now who's on first?

BTW i'll be there on Friday to help you with the sled.

edit: the pdf has two paint codes. the first one with Centauri highlighted in yellow is the lighter color. it also says matched to imron paint which is the type of paint Armstrong uses. i guessing the second code since it has a lot more orange in it, is the code for the gelcoat color of the hull......but that is just a guess. :?
