Does anyone know if the 2002 2120 sc transom splash guard was any different than the current ones? The 2002 I saw had a flat panel that has hinges. The salesman said that it's a factory splash guard from Parker. The panel is the same color as the boat

Interesting, I didn't see the hinged/removable splash guards on boats earlier than 2006/7. My 2008 model 2120 has the hinged type like you described and was done that way from the factory. The older boats had a contoured guard that was non-removable and bowed outward taking up more room in the cockpit. Maybe the boat you're looking at has been updated to the new style.

The Mokee Dugway's splash guard is hinged and removable. Must be removed to access the bilge. Great when you scrub down the cockpit.

Thanks guys. So I guess it is a factory splashguard. My only gripe is that the motor cannot be tilted all the way up without it hitting the guard. You would have to fold down the splashguard for it to work completely

If you remove the board part of the hinges, you can still lock the board in as usual, but you can just pull it up instead of laying it down and sliding it to the side to get it off.

I took mine off, stowed it in the cabin behind the bench seat and never thought about it again. But yeah, now that you mention it: if you leave it in, you do have to be careful tilting the engine up or it could hit against the top of the splashgaurd and scratch the cowling. Do you have a 200HP engine? I think the 150's tilted up stay clear, but the 200/225 V6's sure don't.
