I am interested in adding a spot light to my 2002 18cc and I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations. We have had some trouble navigating a cove going out at night and need some extra light to make it out. What candle light rating would work and also hand held or mount it? Is there one that you would recommend, any help would be great

I also noticed that on the console were four shelves that looked like the could hold tackle boxes. I went to WalMart and got ones that were standard size no dice, about 1/2 inch off. Anyone know where to get tackle boxes to fit these shelves or what size they are?

Thanks on both parts

I'd go installed versus handheld, though I keep a handheld on boat that can be run from the cockpit. And I'd put at least a 500K candlepower spotlight on the boat, like the models from Go-Light, see http://www.golight.com/ . I use the wired one and made up a base from starboard that affixes in seconds to the FAR end of the pulpit, so when in use there is no glare sent back towards the helm.

If putting off the roof, I'd strongly urge some kind of deflector or 'cone' or shield that could be added for when in use, that would minimize any reflection off the rails, as they WILL LIGHT up if otherwise not considered, and if in any part of the beam.

I am told the 'pan/tilt rate on the wireless one is ideal, as I find the motor movements on the wired one a bit too fast, causing overshoot 'til you get the hang of it.

I have a golight, it is perfect and the wireless is cool, mounted on a homemade mount on the pulpit above the anchor roller, search, you will find my post !

The 2007 1801 has storage for 3600's, your 2002 should be the same. You probably don't have a pulpit in which to mount it. I would remove the FWD navlight, add some Starboard for a bracket, re-mount the navlight, mount spot light under the bracket to reduce glare. I have contemplated doing this myself. It does need to be rigid and FWD/ under navlight though.
