changing the fuel/water filter/separator every 20 hrs???? How many are doing that? Don't put a battery on the floor? Educate me please. Thanks

I change my water sep. filter every 100 hours or so, at 20 hours I would be changing every 2 or 3 trips and storing batteries on the concrete is fine that's an old wives tale.

That ONLY applied many years ago when the battery cases were not solid plastic like they are now. It now is regulated to be an 'urban myth' that lives on ... and on ...

FYI, a current, modern mfgr'd battery left on a concrete floor WILL NOT have any issues. Thirty years ago or so, most battery casings were made of hard rubber and due to the porosity thereof, battery acid would sometimes seep through the rubber and create a conductive path through the damp concrete - thus draining the battery.

Modern batteries are encased in PP plastic or polypropylene. The cooler the temps, the slower a battery's rate of discharge. And because concrete is often cooler than the surrounding environment, leaving a modern battery on a concrete floor might actually make it last LONGER.

It's time we here on CP put that wives's tale about batteries discharging on concrete floors to rest once and for all ...
