I've recently purchased a 2007 23se I found on this ClassicParker site, and I'm stoked and ready to go! One thing strange to me is the absence of spring cleats. This is the first of several boats I've owned that doesn't have them. I guess since the original owner kept it on a lift, he didn't need them. I'll be keeping it in the water, and besides the obvious docking usage, I do a considerable amount of drift fishing. Sometimes I requre a sea anchor to control the speed of drift. I could make up a bridle, but that would encumber the fishing lines.
I'm asking for some good member with a 23se to measure from stern cleat, and from bow cleat( I have a single in the center of bow), to help me determine the "balance spot" for the spring cleat. . I'm not sure if that is forward or aft of the fuel fillup pipe. Thank you, Papa
ps: I'm also adding some flush rod holders, but searched out some excellent tips and a diagram submitted by DaleH. Thank you, Dale.

Then you'll love this post here with info on pop-up cleat installation.

The springline cleats on my 2520 are just aft of the rear of the pilothouse.
I would think yours (on a CC) should be right about in the middle of the boat, which is where these are located on mine.

Take a look underneath at your other cleats.
The factory used fiberglass backing plates on mine, but you could use aluminum, stainless, or starboard.
