I need to replace a handful of upholstery snaps on a skiff...is there a good quality unit that can be bought without breaking the bank?

Thanks Gentlemen,

Bryce

I use the hammer/die tools set and it works fine! In a pinch, I have started the male post portion of the snap by using a small Phillips screwdriver to start the 'spread', then used a 5/32" punch flatten the portion that gets compressed.

Do it on a hard! Hardwood block and if you dish the block some with a rotary ball burr 3/8-1/2", first, that 'dish' helps hold the snap (rounded one anyway) and prevent it from distorting.
