This is my 3rd Parker, first pilot house. Prepping the boat for the upcoming season. Bought her end of last season so I have a bunch of upgrades ans mods I'd like to get done. I already installed 2 tackle storage boxes in the cabin bench seat. I purchased a seating box from a 2520 to install in place of the captain chair, but can't get it in the pilot house door even after separating it into its 2 pieces. Not sure if removing the door frame would help?
I purchased a LED spreader light to replace the oem halogen, but I'm not sure exactly where to put it. It seems like it would be right in my eyes if I put it where the factory installed the halogen one. I think it should be as high as possible. Any input would be appreciated.
I'd also like to replace the oem white plastic thru hull for the bilge pump, anyone know the size?
I'm sure I'll have many more questions.
Thanks

I know the spreader light question may seem obvious, but as I stank on the deck of the behind the pilot house I'm looking right into the spreader light. Is it an issue? Has anyone mounted it higher? Or just angled it downwards? I'm switching to a LED spreader and would like to mount once. In the best place.
Thanks

I can't think of a better spot for it than the rocket launcher spot (assuming that is where yours is?). If you just want light on the deck and not on the water area as well then you could consider light strips for under the gunnels? Maybe 2 spreaders on the pilot house corners pointing slightly out?

Thanks for the feedback,I have already ordered 2 blue LED strips for under the gunnels. I was thinking of mounting the spreader light a few feet up on my VHF antennae but am concerned it would negatively affect the reception?
Cheers
Jerry

I have a single Hella LED deck light mounted in the factory location and using the original factory bracket.
Plenty of light on the deck when needed.

I put under-the-washboard lighting on my boat using LED truck clearance lights (red) years ago when they first became available.
The bulbs in the factory housings were replaced with red LED equivalents.
Over the years, I have replaced all of the lighting on my boat with LED's as they became available.

As for the through-hull fittings, I have replaced all of mine with chrome over bronze, but they can also be had in stainless.
My two rear pumps (primary and backup) are 1500 gph Rule's, and the forward pump was upgraded to an 800 gph Rule.
The fittings were all sized accordingly.

When the pumps were upgraded, all of the bilge pump discharge hoses were upgraded to the type with a smooth inner wall with the helix on the outside, and the switches were upgraded to Water Witch 101 solid state units.

Hope this helps.

I'm also replacing my spreader light this year with a Rigid 4" M2. I want it to illuminate the water and the deck.......
I'm planning to mount it using the existing location on my rocket launcher with a custom mounting bracket. FYI - mine is different than Megabyte's mounting location. My 2003 2520 XL has the spreader mounting location on the top of the middle rocket launcher support between the middle 2 rod holders. As the 4" Rigid M2 is actually too wide for this location, I'm going to fabricate a bracket to raise it just over the rod holders. I can post pictures when I get it going.....should be within the month.

I moved my All Round light last year and I actually was able to find a good material for the new bracket on Amazon. Just in case you didn't have your bracket figured out already. This was just my size, they have other dimensions also, might get you to one cut. That what I did. Hope this helps.

I clean it.
After I wash the boat, I put some extra Simple Green and bleach in the bucket, and pour it into the bilge.
After she sits in the slip for a couple of days, the wind and wave action gently agitates the solution.
Next time I go out and jump her on plane, the water surges aft and the bilge pump(s) get rid if everything.

On nice days, I leave the bilge hatch open so that the last remaining moisture evaporates.
It's not rocket science, but it is what I do. :)
