I have a question about mounting swim ladder brackets. I have a 2007, 2510. The swim ladder brackets that holds ladder when not in use were not mounted on the transom. Need to know what size screw would be the best. Was thinking a 14 x 2 stainless with sealant. Tried calling Parker but didn't get a response.
thanks.

I always thought very carefully when it came to deciding to mount "stuff" with screws into the transom.

FWIW the transom is plenty thick but I think 2 inch long screws is overkill for a swim ladder holder bracket. 1.25 or 1.5 inch should be more than enough. I am assuming it is the two piece plastic bracket the ladder snaps into in a horizontal fashion.

Personally, I never carried the ladder aboard the boat unless there was diving or swimming on the agenda. If fishing or just general cruising it was always easy enough to stand on the corner of the swim platform which is about level with the water to pull somebody aboard. When I did carry my 4 step ladder it was stowed in the transom box. Carrying it exposed outside the boat (to me) seems like an invitation for one more thing to corrode/clean.

Personally..... I hate the "Pogo Stick" ladders. You have to stow them. They are not easily available in a emergency.

Look how I got around this.

We have accidentally left it down and no harm came to it while running. I have heard that is not the case with a Pogo Stick.

With stowing Under the swim platform there is less chance for lines to get wrapped around it.
