Well, I ordered the parts from SIM.
I know I have found the Pressure relief valve, photo attached. That looks like a real bugger to get to!
Are the photos of the T-Stats correct?
Lastly, while peeking around under there, I found a wire not connected to anything
Any ideas where this is goes? It's located on the starboard side, aft, to the lower right of the bottom spark plug, one end is connected (along with another wire) to a blue marked bolt, the other end is hanging.
The motor is a 1999 225 OX66
S225TXRX Model #

Thanks,
Tim

Here is a pic of where the T-Stat and PCV should be on that motor, hard to tell from the pics if its (t-stat) the same spot you are showing in the pic. The PCV is correct.

Hard to say what that wire is, as it looks like it wasn't rigged that way at the factory, but can't be sure. Can you see where other end goes?

Hi Tom,

Glad I got the PCV valve found.
Those possible T-Stat photos are on the top of each cylinder head....
They are almost touching the black plastic cover on the fly wheel.
They look sort of like the photos in the manual, but the ones in the photo have a wire coming off of them, the manual doesn't show any wires.
There is a small red wire wrapped in a black plastic bushing of some kind coming of what I think may be the t-stat cover.

The wire that's disconnected.......to the right of my thumb is an orange spark plug wire cap. It's the bottom plug on the starboard side.To the right of the cap is a bolt with the number "8" on it, it is touched up with some blue ink of some kid, you can see it in the photo. That's the other end of the wire that's in my hand. That blue painted bolt also has another wire attached to it along with the one in my hand.

Tim, If you email the photos to Andy at SIM, I'll bet he could tell you.

Better yet, send him the link to your post. Andy is a registered member here I believe.

Thanks Capt.

Did that this morning also. No one besides me has been under there in at least a year and I know it wasn't me that left it off. The boat ran great so whatever it is, I didn't notice anything unusual....

Anybody have any pictures of location of pressure release valve on a 2003 F225? Even a description of where to look would help. I went to Yamaha website but it's still unclear how to find it. Thanks in advance. :(
