right now i have my transducer about a foot from the edge of the outside of the transom. i bought bennet trim tabs 24 x 12. that won't leave me too much room for the transducer when i relocate it. I'm afraid that it will be too close to the center of the transom and the prop wash will interfere with the reception. any suggestions other than a thru hull transducer?

Well where you have it is to far outboard anyway.

This is a good time to clean up your transom.

Install a thru hull X-Ducer

The tilted element units are easy to install.

Ditto on the thru-hull tilted elements ... just have LARGE pair of waterpump pliers in hand.
