Has anyone here mounted a tackle station in the back of the pilot house. Im thinking about doing this over the winter and wanted to get thoughts and views. I was thinking one from Fin-addict along those lines with drawers and tackle containers.

Yes that one is real nice, except im leaning more towards one that is flush mounted again the back of the pilot house I dont want it to take up room in the cockpit. something more like these http://www.finaddictmarine.com/id2.html either of the bottom two. then making storage on top of the back side sticking inside the PH with starboard. Its all wasted space behind my helm chair anyways.

I dunnoh ... but after looking at your handiwork  with your recent pulpit project, isn't there a corrugated cardboard box, like an old 24-pack, that'll work for you ... ????

HeHe....LOL!

Back to the subject at hand.

I would not cut thru the back bulkhead and have drawers/ doors exposed. Your gonna eat up your storage real estate if you do it your way or install it on the inside either way.

But installing it on the inside keeps it much dryer and hooks do rust.

My $.02

Also look at this place for a unit you like. I bought from them and they are the manufacture.

Funny, but when I had the 23DVCC I installed the factory style flush mount tackle station on the center console. I didn't seem to be using it too much. It wasn't very well protected being on a CC boat and as Bobby said, the tackle began to rust.

When I switched to my 23PH, I removed the flush mount tackle station from underneath the bench seat and installed a fresh water tank and pump/motor. The reason for this is because I wanted a FW system and I had became fond of portable nylon mesh tackle pouches that can snap or velcro just about anywhere you like. Mine are made by BoatMates.

I fish on several different boats so the portability of the tackle is really convenient. While on my boat the pouch snaps onto the front of the livewell for easy access. Easy to remove and secure when not using the boat as well.

Dale I cant believe you dont like my new pulpit! Dont worry i added a few more lags

Thanks for the responses. I am worried about the moisture getting into the drawers. My problem is my 2320 doesnt have the bench seat i just have the companion seat which has storage inside of it. I thought about mounting one of those stations in the side of the seat but then i would loose all the storage space inside the seat.

Jim a FW tank is also in the works im gonna cut out that in deck hatch and put a tank down there also will add storage.

Keep the ideas coming
