Temporary Wet Storage

I am planning to leave my Parker in wet slip for a couple of months at my place in Suwannee, FL. It is almost totally fresh water. I know it's not good, but I am temporarily without a boat lift. My landlord is going to build me one early next year. My old slip is too small for my new boat. I hate to load and unload my boats on and off the trailer as most of the wear, tear, bumps and bruises that a boat gets are from that process. I know that osmotic blistering can be a problem. I just don't know how long is too long to keep the boat in the water without a break. If any of you have knowledge of this, I would like to know......Thanks in advance for the help.

You don't mention whether or not there is bottom paint on the hull...makes a difference.

I asked a similar question about leaving a boat without bottom paint in saltwater for a week or two at a time (vacation). Was told to be prepared to powerwash the bottom while the growth is still wet and soft. Once it hardens, may as well get out the sandpaper. :shock: :shock: :shock:

It helps if you run her atleast once a week, I have my boat in a wet slip (salt water) from june to novermber every year and the groath is not really that bad.

I rather leave her in the water and use her then have to trailer her and not use the boat as much.

No, it isn't bottom-painted. It will be stored on a lift permanently, and I don't want to bottom-paint. This is just temporary for a couple of months. I'll probably remove it from the water once or twice during that time for cleaning. Thanks for the help, guys.
