sorry no pictures.
went out fishing with the "otherline" yesterday. he caught a very nice 12 lb red grouper, as well as some other nice fish. i use my transom fish box as a kill box..... so in the grouper went next to several red snappers previously caught.
the bite eventually slowed, so i pulled the fish out and gutted them, putting them in the 150 icey-tek for final cool down and storage.
the last fish i gutted was the 12 lb red grouper. his gills weren't moving and he was gutted so i assumed he was dead. with the left hand i had a good grip of the eyeball sockets, and with the right hand a good grip of the belly cavity where he was gutted. he was still kind of bloody so i decided to dip him over the side of the boat to clean him up a little. still holding on firm i dipped him. then i stood straight up and started to turn back into the boat. when i released my right hand (holding the belly cavity) to open the cooler, the grouper convulsed in a very power way and slapped the bejeezes out of my nose, eye and cheek bone......
........and as you have probably already guessed, the grouper went overboard. we spotted him about 6-7 ft down and i was about to dive in after him but then reconsidered since i had tossed a great deal of entrails into the water.
a great day on the water otherwise 8) 8) 8)....sorry larry
