Is the lever that locks the motor in the fully raised position on the port or starboard side? No difference on counter rotating motors, correct? Sorry, It was tough to see when the boat's in the water. thank you.

Edit, I amended the title to include the tilt failure

Ok, thanks, I looked at the online manual and the pic I found was confusing. I had my 1 year old boat serviced by the selling dealer over the winter. Since splashing it this season, when I have the motors fully tilted up in the slip the port motor will end up in the water in ~2 days. I went down today and after 5 days of no use the motor was completely down and vertical. No signs of fluid on the boat or in the water. If the lock lever is on the port side of the port motor I'm hopeful that I can reach it from the platform and at least lock it up now. I think it's been back to the dealer 4 times already and I'm not looking forward to number 5. During the normal ~120 hour service would that fluid have been changed? Wondering if there's air in the system from a fluid change or it's an actual failure. Thanks

The tilt obviously needs power to operate but it appears I have a leak down situation. Thanks for posting the trim troubleshooting, but this is a tilt situation. IDK, O ring failure? Thanks

Hey John. The lever that rotates downward to mechanically lock the motor in the upright position is on both sides. So no issue there with access.

FWIW another related feature you can make more accessible is the tilt/trim switch which comes mounted on the starboard side of each engine. The port engine trim/tilt switch can be easily moved outboard/portside of engine. Just unsnap it and move the wires/toggle switch under the cowl over to the capped hole on the other side. Snap that cap back into the original hole on the starboard side. Yes, all the wires are long enough to move the switch over.

Sorry, I don't have answer as to why your engine is losing pressure and dropping down. Mine and yours are of the same vintage. That said, I have never had a Yamaha engine drop like that. Back to the shop.
