Hey Guys, This is my first post so be gentle :p

I have a 95 21DV CC that the transom appers to be splitting. I emailed Parker and they said it doesn't appear to be structural and I shlould fill the gaps with 5200 until it can be repaired. Has anyone had any issues like this before? Any thoughts on what it would take to fix it? Any advice would be appreaciated!

Hi - we've seen this before and ALL boats are seeing similar 'cosmetic' issues nowadays. To allay your fears, read this post here,, specially what TomS had in a similar spot and waht his fix was.

That said, where you're new-to-the-boat, I might still would have it checked out by your local dealer. Howver, the fix can easily be done by yourself and if needed, the skills and techniques you may learn will be invaluable to you in your boating career. For your reading enjoyment, also put the terms 'gelcoat' and 'brittle' into the search box, seach for ALL terms, and read away. On "other" brand boats, I have seen stress cracks sooooooooooooo deep you could stand a penny in them and have old Abe's entire head disappear. Read away ... ask away ... as that's what CP was envisioned to do.

I can prove to you that gelcoat has changed over the years ... my '92 has zero stress cracks in the glass, less one spot where clearly she took a large hit to the washboards (like someone dropped a sledge hammer on it  ).

Welcome aboard to ClassicParker !
