Was forced to load the boat during a bad cross wind last week and misjudged the trailer hitting it off center and leaving a foot long pretty deep gash through the gel coat. I'm not concerned that it's deep enough to cause water intrusion, but what should I use to fill it? Marine Tex, Epoxy with some cabosil mixed in? It's only going to be repainted with bottom paint after the repair anyway. I guess I should wait now for warmer weather if playing around with epoxy correct? Any advice would be appreciated.

I would use gel coat or epoxy. Wait for a warm day 60 degrees or better and you will be fine. Mix well pile on deep and grind down. I did the same thing. Its a pisser but don't let it bother you. At least you bottom paint and can cover it up.
