I've had my 2520 for over 2 years now and like some of you I've struggled with storage for tackle and other amenities.

Last February I posted this looking to buy a bench from another member...

...and as you can see I nearly took on the project myself. After much debate I have decided to have a custom one made out of Starboard.

As much as I would have liked to save some money and do it myself I know a professionally built product will benefit me in the long run.

It is going to be PVC welded Therefore no screws or glue, and CNC machined.
It will fit perfectly where my existing pedestal seat is. It will hold 7 of the big planos, have 2 drawers and a bulk storage area. The guys that are building it also have a very innovative way to mount it in the boat without actually screwing into the boat.

It should be here in 3 weeks, I'll post pics as soon as I get it.

Ryan,
I've been looking for the same thing, just dont have the time to take on building one on my own right now. Cant wait to see pic's of yours. Did u have the "box style seat" on the port? My floor is flat from port to starboard, I dont have the bump up like the newer models that have the bench, so I would have to get somthing fairly high like the factory seat. Where are you getting yours made?

Mine is also flat from port to starboard.
It is replacing a ladder-back captains seat.
The way I designed it the front and top will have the same exact orientation (both height-wise and fore to aft) as if you were sitting in the previous seat.
I'll still be able to access the port window from standing. And I'll still be able to store rods on the sides.

It's being made by Jeff Lingner at Advanced Plastics Fabrication on Long Island. He's been easy to deal with and has sent me pinc off the work in progress. If I have time I'll post some spoiler pics later.

Happy Easter

Bench is here! Pics and report to follow.
