Well I finally started on ventilating the cabin like some of you already have, I just could not put it off any longer with the hot n HUMID Baltimore days. Dale recommended a plastimo dorado, so I purchased one online from West Marine for $122.99 west marine part # 1169242. One of the easiest projects of done. The instructions called for a 3-3/8" hole but that size hole saw was hard to find, so I bumped it up an 1/8 to a 3-1/2" hole saw and it worked perfect. I actually drilled my pilot hole from the inside, then inserted the hole saw and ran it in reverse to cut the carpet first, worked like a charm no rips or runs. Then went up top and drilled down having the wife hold an emp[ty card board box against the ceiling below so I would not have a mess to clean up. Cut the hole apply sealant and 5 screws and the top part is done. Cut the bottom sleeve to the same depth of the hole insert 4 screws and the trim ring and your done. really nice design how it lets air in and keeps the rain out... I included a photo of the core from the top 2004 2520XL. I saw some nice 4"x4" and 4"x7" ABS vents at West Marine that I am thinking might get installed in the rear cabin wall each side of the door down low. But when it comes to cutting holes in the boat I tend to think about it for quite a while before I get the nerve to actually do it, any opinions? I looked into the Beckson replacement cabin windows with the rain sheilds that can remain open, but I would need to enlarge the openings a bit and the windows with the rain sheilds are about $500.00 a pair. any Ideas or thought appreciated. Thanks Mike
