Hi all, I have a tower on my Parker, the plate welded on the top of the tower is double welded, if i mount a 14 ft antenna up there, think it will break, there is no way to add an upper support, I need a new antenna as the wire is messed up at the base of one of my antennas, the one I was looking at has a 8 foot main trunk and then the additional piece screws on, it is skinny and weightless, think it will break, I have seen some tall antennas without upper brackets, this one is a 8db Shakespeare, nice antenna and it is almost free and new ! Just not sure if it is a good idea or not, no other place to mount on the tower high up , so anybody care to give their thoughts :)

Check with Shakespeare :) ! Maybe even a piece of thin 'rubber', or white adhesive-lined heatshrink could be put over it, as long as it doesn't absorb/reflect needed energy. That's why check with them.

Best prices on i'net for ad-ld-heatshrink is from www.cabletiesandmore.com , but www.bestboatwire.com might have 3/8" 3-to-1 stuff in white, in 4' lengths. PM me if I can help.

Wondering if a 14 foot will as it is longer than the one I have or need to replace ?
