If you are fishing out of Virginia Beach, cast to the bridge pilings of the CBBT using bass assassins.
The area around the high rise is almost always good at holding fish on a moving tide.

Just watch what the other guys are doing.

Thanks for the tips. I figured that there would be enough boats and captains at the launch that I could follow out. I figure I'll bring some bottom fishing rigs and LTJ rods. Maybe one or two trolling rods to round it out. Who knows what I'll end up doing. I've done this in DC in the past and they were happy for a boat ride and a few catfish.

It's not listed on their site. I launched out of there for the first time two weeks ago. Great location, but public ramps are lacking. The ramp piers are not very long. Folks that run the marina are very friendly and down to earth. The channel leading out to the bay is dodgy. You know more and leave the marina, come up on plane, make a left, a very hard right, another left, and then have to immediately back off due to the No Wake zone along the man-made beach. You merge with another channel, make a right and head out the main channel into the bay.

e-map their address or "factory Point, Hampton, Va" to see it.

Bluefish Rock is where many in that area target Flounder.
