I believe the 23CCDV only comes with a bracket,I have a 2006 with 250HP Yam.,what si your ballpark figure you want to buy for.

I agree with you,after having many boats with notched transoms and then buying this 2300CCDV with the bracket,its like a bigger boat,not only for the large fish box it has but also when the seas get angry I have no water to worry about coming in thru back,I also tend to stand on the bracket to cast my rods and keep fishing from bracket.
I also do a lot of spearfishing so the bracket is a plus for it has the armstrong ladder set up,easy in and I can get all set up while sitting on bracket (fins,mask,gun,ect,ect).
I love this 2300CCDV,its a battle wagon.

I agree with you both about the enclosed cockpit and the extra storage. I'm willing to sacrifice the storage because I release most of my fish. As far as water in the cockpit I found unless your backing down on following seas it's really not a problem. On a 21 or 23 there is no need to back down it's small enough to turn the boat around. I don't enjoy concerning myself with the additional distance astern when fighting a fish at the back. If you have to stand on the brackit to get around the motor you increasing the possibility that your going to get wet. To me that's a safety issue.
I have been on the 23dvcc with a bracket and it is a tank but I prefer it without a bracket. That's just me. I'm sure alot of people wouldn't have one without the bracket.

Chances are you won't find a notced '06 or better. Why not look at older models? Because of engine?

I wouldn't run a V6 four stroke on a notched transom 2100CC. The F225 weighs about 120 pounds more than an F150. The extra weight will lower the transom a bit more, and it'll make the boat butt-heavy while trolling or drift fishing.
