I have a 1999 2520 MV. It currently is kept in a slip. I went to use it yesterday and after having a bunch of rain and wind found the shore power had been disconnected, dead battery (as the result of the auto bilge switch having something stuck under it) and front and rear bilges full of water. Switched batteries and was able to pump out the water. When I went to leave the Marina and accelerated I noticed water coming up through I guess the drain hole? in the cuddy floor.
It obviously doesn't have a pump up in that compartment and doesn't seem to have anywhere to go. Assuming the water came in through the anchor chain cover? I'm thinking I'll pump it out through the drain hole in the floor.
Is it supposed to drain somewhere?
Any advice from anyone? Thanks.

I too have a 1999 2520. At rest, any water entering the bilge (forward or aft) will make its way (or stay) in the forward bilge because it sits lower at rest. Once the bow rises, it runs (or should) to the aft bilge. There is a blockage if you have water coming up through the drain in the cabin floor in front of the door.

Thanks, but to clarify not the cabin floor but in front of the cabin on the bow side of the cuddy door. But yeah it seems like it should drain into the forward bilge under the wheelhouse floor

My '95 2530 had a Forward pump.

This shows the discharge thruhull that was being replaced with Stainless at the time.

As to debris stuck under the float switch....Obviously the bilge needs a Good cleaning, but it is why I use the Rule A Matic PLUS float switches. They have a cage....They also have a Lil lever for testing.

As cold as it's getting and the fact you killed that battery...I'll be surprised if that battery will fully recover.. Charge it and Load test it...Be prepared to Replace it.
