I was talking to a fellow boater at my marina and we got on the subject of the window glass staining and unable to get it off. It is funny that it doesn't happen to car windows but does on boat windows. He said that he got a rubbing compound from Venco Marine. So I ordered the compound over the internet a week ago and got a receipt to print from the website but my credit card has not been charged nor the only thing I get when I call is a recorded message. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this company/website? :?:

Try Weimans glass stove top cleaner, it has been discussed here before and seems to work pretty well.

Window staining"acid etching" occurs all most every where , my wife ******* at me cuz i park my vette in the garage meanwhile her new car gets blasted by the water from sprinkler system, the safety coatings get etched by it leaving" permanent water stains"....lol which as you all stated can be rubbed out with the proper compounds,......

Interesting note....i have a customer worth 20 million plus and he has over 20 collectable cars i've seen the guys who take care of the cars they use Grinots/and maguires pure carnuba wax on the glass and let it dry hard then polish off two coats last at least a month on a car and keep the microscopic pores of the safety glass closed.....

You can use Winq Rust and stain remover-it comes in a brown squeeze bottle with a white top and is probably sold at your local supermarket. It is meant to remove rust/water stains from porcelain.

Wet down the pilot house and put a little of this on a sponge and start rubbing the glass-it will clean the spots off.

Very important:

1. Wet surrounding areas
2. You only need a little on the sponge so do not soak the sponge in it-you want to
be able to control where it drips.
3. It will etch aluminum if it sits on it so that is why numbers 1 and 2 are important.
4. Do not let dry on the area you are working on. Do one side at a time.
