I just had a custom winter cover made out of vinyl it covers the whole boat and is vented should i leave the windows and door open to vent cabin when covered or should i leave it closed. I am going to take out all the cushions in cabin. Thanks

Id leave them closed. i get worried animals will get in the pilot house
I leave my closed all winter my boat is in my driveway somi am in and out of it all winter.

I leave anything I can wide open, but we've never had a critter issue. But I can see it being an issue!

I do the same thing... door and windows open
In the driveway next to the tree line
I'm in it a lot but never had a critter problem.... FingersX
I figure its better then closing it up.
10 years now

In my opinoin I don't know if its necessary to leave the door open, but leaving the windows open will be a big plus

I leave everything open, door, windoows, even the fwd hatch. I wouldn't think you'd have trouble with animals if you've made certain there is nothing edible onboard.

I do leave the windows cracked but never the door open.
Animals look for any kind of shelter in the cold winter months, I have seen a quarter of a boat yard ravaged by racoons living in bilges, where the mother has givin birth down there and all the wiring, foam etc had been chewed, HUGE MESS

My boat is shrink wrapped with a number of extra vents installed.
My neighbor owns the shrink company, so he accepts the fact that I want the boat to be covered, but well vented.

After the shrink goes on, ALL of the windows are opened, the rear curtains rolled up (she is an open-back model), and ALL of the deck plates and hatches are opened.
In other words, if there is a hatch or an enclosed space anywhere on the boat, it gets opened so everything stays vented.

I have never had an issue with critters, but if you do, putting several plastic coffee cans filled with moth balls inside should encourage them to go elsewhere. :)
