My warranty is up in June 2011 for my 250F and I got the notice to extend the warranty by December 30 2010.
They want $1500 for 1 year, $2300 fr 2 years, and $2700 for 3 years of extension.
I take good care of her and maintain to specs. In three years it will be 6 years old motor something to think about. Should I spend this kinda of money? I have just over 360 hours in 3 seasons of use no probelms and the engine seems rock solid.I am little floored by the price they want for the warranty :?

It was over a couple of years ago but I can say I was glad. That being said I wasn't the one who paid for it. The previous owner (my father) bought it when he put on the new power and it is fully transferable. There was an issue with the motor to the tune of about 3k so I was glad to not end up with that bill.

Don't know if there's a right response to this. When I had my 250 OX66, I bought the extended warrenty. The only thing that ever went wrong was that I had to replace to O2 sensor. I won't say it was wasted money. It gave me peace of mind. There are too many things that can go wrong and many of them are over $2,700. When I upgraded to an F250, I went with six years of protection. Hopefully, I'll never have to use it. But again, its peace of mind. As long as I can afford it, I'll max out my coverage.

Asked my Dealer about Y.E.S renewal I got in the mail, I have a great dealer, say no more!

saved $500 going through the dealer to renew on 3 years YES over what Yamaha priced me.
