Yamaha f300 repower on 2320 DV ??

I have an older 2320 with a 225 hp OX 76( not misprint, made only 1 year). I note that the 2320 is now rated for 300hp. My old engine weights almost the same as the new 225-250-300 V6. Local dealer has new 300 in stock and the price diffrence between 225/250/300 is minimal. I can't find any data on 2320 with new 300, Any help appriciated.

Can I be nosey and ask where the motor $$ is coming in at? Here in
Mass I was quoted $24k for the 300hp OB, but $4-5k for new fly-by-wire rigging & controls & gauges for 1 station. Plus another $2-3k to rig it!

I got a Suzi 250hp quote installed (I would run the harness) @ $20k out the door ...

Propped correctly, I would think that a 300 Offshore on a 2320 would be a rocket ship!

I was told by Parker that they do not recommend putting the NEW 300hp on the 2320 with the notched transom, reason being they say the torque of the NEWER motor can cause a transom failure.

I have no numbers to show for this, but I have twin 300's. They are ridiculous torque wise.

I have a bracket which I know will need to be inspected very carefuly (at a minimum). Still trying to deside between 225/250/300 as weight is identical on all three. My goal is a lower cruise RPM which hopefully will result in lower fuel consumption and longer life. Speed is most defiently not a desiding factor (mid Chesapeake bay with short chop)

lower cruise rpm isnt necesarily a good thing if the motor isnt able to make its power at that point. if you are propped for wot on a 300 chances are you will be in the low to mid 50s and that means your normal cruise of 25-30 will be at the lower end of the rpm range that those things will keep you up. id go for a 225 or 250 suzuki. the torque and giant props that those things swing gives you alot more usable power in the normal operating range not to mention great fuel efficience with proven cable technology. no offense to the new fancy electric everything but i just am not a fan yet after problems on several boats with them.

I have a2320 w/225 yahm it is a2011 so numbers are from gauges. 3800rpm 27-28mph 11.3gph wot 40mph 95-100 gal fuel 2 people+ 200+- gear Lake Erie fishing aveg wave ht 2'-3'. 225 is pleanty of power, if I was ordering or re power 250 would be my choice
