I have a F250 and the digital speed guage in the dash just stopped reading. Any ideas? It still reads a display just a dash line.

I have this problem on my F115 occasionally. The P tube gets plugged. Simple fix.

On the forward leg of your outboard you have a hole for the pitot tube that is about 1/16" in diameter.
Take a twist drill of that size and using only your fingers, carefully re-open the hole.

Fixed.

thanks for info. any hint to where to look for this little hole? above or below where the lower unit is bolted on as an example.

Below... maybe 12 to 14" from the bottom of the gear case.
If it is clogged, it will be hard to see.
Run your fingers up and down the leading edge of the lower unit. You will find it.

Mine stopped working the other day when I ran through kelp bed. When I reached clear water I shut r down and restarted. Quick blast in reverse and then was on my way with speedometer again. Doesn't take much to clog the pitot tube. Doesn't take much to unclog it.

A hand twisted 1/16 size drill bit fits perfectly
